Cross-site databases are the next challenge facing today's MySQL-based businesses. Continuent Tungsten enables multi-master with an innovative new architecture called System of Record that avoids data conflicts, ensures sites are ready for quick failover, and uses hardware resources efficiently.

Watch this video from our 9/22/11 webcast to learn how Tungsten Enterprise enables System of Record with real-time data synchronization, cross-site failover, and automatic routing of SQL transactions between sites. We will cover the following topics:
  • What is System of Record and how does Tungsten Enterprise use it to enable multi-site data management
  • How do you set up multiple sites with Tungsten
  • How do you failover between sites
  • How does Tungsten route transactions transparently between sites?

Lee Margulin, DBA at Zappos.com on Tungsten and Team Continuent

Lee Margulin, Database Administrator at Zappos.com, talks about how Zappos uses Tungsten to replicate data between Oracle and MySQL.

Tungsten Replicator is a high performance, open source, data replication engine for MySQL. It offers a set of features that surpass any open source replicator available today: global transaction IDs to support failover, flexible transaction filtering, extensible transaction metadata, sharding, multiple replication services per process, high performance, and simple, well-documented operation.

Tungsten Replicator helps technically focused users solve problems like promoting masters easily from pools of slaves, replicating data between different database versions, replicating efficiently across sites, building complex topologies, and parallelizing data flow between servers. It runs equally well in cloud as well as locally hosted environments. Tungsten Replicator users range from tiny start-ups to the largest web properties on the planet.
