Complex multi-master solutions made easy with Tungsten - at SkySQL & MariaDB Solutions Day for the MySQL® Database, April 13

Complex multi-master solutions made easy with Tungsten by Robert Hodges & Giuseppe Maxia
Friday, April 13 at 1:00 pm

Tungsten has broken new ground how to make previously complex or completely unattainable solutions very simple and easy to deploy. Tungsten Replicator offers improvements in replication topologies and performance, using technologie
s that were either unknown or not used together within MySQL marketplace. Tungsten Replicator's architecture makes creating complex topologies, such as multi-master, really easy and allows for outstanding performance using parallel replication and pre-fetching. Tungsten Replicator is an open source solution, licensed under GPL v2.

Tungsten Enterprise has brought data management to a new level. Users of this technology can deal with their clusters as if they were a single server, thanks to the transparent connectivity that makes the transition from a single server to a cluster a really easy task. For multi-master and multi-site deployments, an automatic fail-over between single hosts and automated fail-over between sites are also at the users' fingertips.

This talk covers some of the key technologies, Tungsten Replicator and Tungsten Enterprise, combined with a few compelling demos.

SkySQL & MariaDB: Solutions Day for the MySQL Database was created specifically for MySQL Database Administrators, Application Developers building solutions on MySQL, Development/Engineering Management and IT Architects. All keynotes, intensive tutorials, and lunch – are absolutely free to attendees. Register here!

Building a multi-master, multi-region MySQL infrastructure in Amazon EC2 -- Webinar 3/29 and 4/3

Thursday, March 29 @ 1 pm ET/10 am PT
Tuesday, April 3rd @ 15:00 CET/14:00 GMT

Growth is good, right? Yes, unless you are the one building and managing a MySQL database tier to handle all this growth! Your company has built a great new app and launched it in the cloud. And now you are seeing what many wish for: an exponential adoption of your app. But is your database tier really up to the job?
  • What happens if your MySQL server fails?
  • Can you fail over to a replica quickly?
  • Do you even have a replica to fail over to?
  • Can you keep your app available even as you upgrade your database schema or add additional or more powerful database servers?
  • Can you easily scale read operations by load balancing them across a set of replicas?
  • Do you have a way to maintain a set of data that is globally accessible, across Amazon EC2 regions in the USA, Europe, APAC, Japan etc., and that allows app users to get to and update their data with minimal latency, no matter where they are located?
  • How do you make sure that an update made in a database in Japan gets propagated to databases in Europe, USA, APAC etc. with minimal latency?
This webinar focuses on the ways that Tungsten Enterprise can help you to solve these issues by combining local MySQL clusters, for high-availability and scalability, with cross-region, multi-master replication to maintain a globally distributed database.

Moving Data in Real-Time between Oracle and MySQL - Webinar 3/20

Tuesday, 3/20/12 @ 9:00 am ET/14:00 CET/ 13:00 GMT

Moving data between legacy Oracle databases and cheap, flexible MySQL-based applications is an increasingly important problem for open source-based businesses. Do you need to move sales requests from MySQL-based web applications to an Oracle-based procurement system? How about from your Oracle ERP applications back to MySQL? Tungsten Replicator leverages open source to move data in real-time at a fraction of the cost of solutions from expensive enterprise vendors.

In this webinar we will show you how to use Tungsten to replicate transactions from Oracle to MySQL as well as MySQL to Oracle. We will describe the setup on each side of the fence and show demos of data movement in both directions. Finally, we will introduce a few of the other replication combinations Tungsten Replicator handles, including MongoDB, Vertica, and PostgreSQL

Tungsten Replicator makes MySQL data plug-and-play with Oracle without application changes or complex configuration -- think Oracle GoldenGate without the price tag! And Continuent offers the support you need to get replication projects deployed quickly and efficiently.
